Spring Gnome Craft

Are you looking for a fun spring or Easter craft? This colorful spring gnome craft would be perfect for a new spring bulletin board display! The gnome was designed to attach to an 8.5×11 piece of paper or gift bag with grass and “hidden” eggs at the bottom. It also includes 4 writing prompts. You can find the templates and writing prompts by clicking here to head to my TPT Store!

supplies for spring gnome craft

  • patterned scrapbook paper for the hats
  • solid colored paper for all other pieces
  • optional gift bag if using for an Easter Egg hunt
  • scissors
  • glue (I prefer this glue stick)

3 options for assembly

  1. Print/copy all the templates on colored paper
  2. Print one of each template on thick card stock and use that to trace the shapes onto the paper of your choice
  3. Print all the templates on white and let your students color

directions

assembling the spring gnome craft

step 1

Cut out the green rectangle. Use scissors to cut the vertical lines and fluff it to make it look grassy. Glue to the bottom of your background page or gift bag with the black lines facing down.

Step 2

Cut out the egg shape for the gnome body and the boots. Glue the boots to the bottom of the page or to the back of the egg body.

step 3

Cut out the white beard and attach to the egg body with the top of the beard close to the top of the egg.

step 4

Cut out the stocking cap. Attach the stocking cap near the top of the beard.

step 5

Cut out the oval for the nose. Attach the nose where the stocking cap and the beard meet.

step 6

Cut out the flower and glue it to the left side of the hat or use hot glue to attach an artificial flower! Then, add eggs in the grass and additional flowers if you want and enjoy the masterpiece! Now you are ready for the writing activity and coloring pages.
