Simple DIY Gnome Valentine Bags

Are you looking for a fun and simple Valentine holder for your kiddo’s Valentine exchange party? Let me help you with this simple gnome Valentine bag idea! This super cute paper gnome is designed to be attached to a paper gift bag but it can be attached to any bag, box, or container you have on hand to collect sweet Valentines. You can quickly download the gnome template by clicking here to head to my TPT store!

supplies for gnome valentine bag

  • patterned paper or scrapbook paper for the hat
  • construction paper or colored card stock paper for all the other pieces
  • gift bag or cardboard box
  • scissors and glue

assembly suggestions

  1. print all the templates directly onto the colored paper
  2. print all the templates onto white paper and then trace onto your colorful/scrapbook paper

directions

assembling the gnome

step 1

Cut out the circle for the gnome body and the to the bag/box near the bottom of the bag/box.

Step 2

Cut out the white beard and attach to the circle with the top of the beard close to the top of the circle.

Step 3

Cut out the stocking cap (this can be traced onto scrapbook paper, copied/printed onto scrapbook paper, or copied/printed on any color). Attach the stocking cap near the top of the beard.

Step 4

Cut out the oval for the nose. Attach the nose where the stocking cap and the beard meet.

Step 5

Cut out the heart patch and glue to the left side of the stocking cap. Add stitch marks if you want to make it look “sewn” onto the cap!

Step 6

Cut out one pair of black or gray boots. Attach the boots to the bottom of the circle body with the bottoms of the boots lined up with the bottom of the bag/box.

Step 7

I think it is super cute just like this but if you want to spice it up a little, feel free to add stickers, draw hearts, use glitter or any other fun embellishments!
